About Me.

I have worked within various organisations throughout my career in mental health as a one to one therapist and group facilitator. I became a therapist after navigating my own journey with what life had presented me with.

I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist. My primary approach to therapy is Existential-Phenomenological although I have a wide and varied training and knowledge of other therapies, such as Attachment theory and Psychoanalytic approaches, which I incorporate in the way that I work and help to form my understanding of the therapeutic process..

The foundation of my practice is existential, which means I take a holistic view of you as a human being, the relationships you have and the world you find yourself in. I come to our sessions with an intent to understand your challenges, issues and difficulties so I can open up with you ways in which change may come about.

I treat everyone I meet as an individual who has their own understanding of the situations they are in and the challenges they face. Rather than seeing you as broken or in some way needing to be fixed I see the challenges and issues you are facing as directly relating to the life and existence you find yourself in. It is these challenges and issues that we will look at so you can find a perspective to move away from them in a way which works for you.

You can learn more about my approach here - through the Society of Existential analysis - which I am a member of.
